How it all began.

The First Time We Met:

Although the story of how we began dating is pretty straight forward, we felt that we couldn’t leave out all of the ways that our paths had crossed before we ever started dating…

In the Summer of 2013, right after our Junior year of high school, we met at Christa’s house (Sam’s bridesmaid) for the first time during a pool party. We had only exchanged hellos and it’s not where our relationship began, but we have a group photo to prove it! At the time, we did not form a romantic connection, but our friend group did stay intertwined for the years afterwards. We like to look back at that photo imagining what it would be like if we knew then what we know now…

In 2019 during a psychic reading, Sam was told that she was about to find herself in a relationship with ‘the one’ and predicted it would begin in the Summer of 2020, he would wear a watch, and was ‘extremely handsome’ the psychic said with a smile. Hoping at the time this was true, Sam now knows every word of the reading was true, right down to the watch.

The Start Of Our Relationship: 

In July 2020, during a time full of uncertainty in the world due to the covid lockdown, we matched on the dating app ‘Hinge’. We quickly realized that we had met each other all of those years ago at the pool party and began talking for hours. On our first date, we went to Brekky for acai bowls in Wading River and sat by the duck pond. A date that should have only lasted an hour or two lasted six. We drove around the North Fork of Long Island running meaningless errands to spend more time together. Needless to say, we became inseparable after that date. 

Sam recalls telling her friends on the phone that it was “The best first date I had ever been on.” And that she felt a sense of “calm” about whatever was going to happen in the future. After we got engaged, Lenny confessed that he knew he eventually “wanted to marry Sam” after our first date.
